Howdy Guys,

Lemme tell you about my dream. (Yes, I managed to fall asleep and actually have a real dream, shocking I know!) I'm sketchy on the details but here goes:

Apparently, I was at some Halloween party/thingie/shindig/dunno and I ran into the guys from MCR. For some reason Frank decides to take me to his mother's house which is a ginormous mansion. He leaves me there and tells me to wait on his mom. Well, I was just sitting there like WTF? Do I look around? Do I just sit and wait? Well, about that time I heard something. You know, one of those horror movie sounds, like a door slamming or someone coming down the stairs when the house is supposed to be empty. I go tearing out of the house at the speed of light and find Frank. I yell at him, "How dare you leave me in that house knowing it was haunted! What are you trying to do scare the shit out of me?" He gives me this little shrug and "I have no idea what you're talking about grin." but the giggle gives him away. He knew exactly what he was doing. Now I still have no clue if the house was really haunted or if it was all a setup, but anyways.

Fast forward to me sitting around with some more people and Frank and Gerard. We start talking about embarassing videos and whatnot. I ask Frank if remembers the show Star Search with Ed McMahon, he tries to act like he doesn't and I pretend to joke and question if he is even old enough to remember Star Search. Gerard is all like yeah you do, it's the show with blah blah blah. And I'm like, Yeah, I know he remembers it because when I was talking to your mother (apparently I ended up talking to Frank's mom at some point and going back in the haunted house) she showed me all your videotapes of when you tried out and were on Star Search. Bwah! Frank just hangs his head and we all point and laugh and Gerard is like, "Say, what?" I think Gerard is having way too much fun poking fun at Frank so I nudge him with my foot to get his attention. I say, "Dude, don't you go laughing at Frank like you don't have any scary videotapes out there!" He's all like, "What? I don't!" I ask him, "Are you absolutely sure about that? What about all those musicals you did as a teenager?" He gets all huffy and says, "My mom would never show you those. She has those hidden in safe place." I just smirk at him, give him a pat on the leg, and say, "That's what you think!"

Bwahahah!

The moral of the story is this....

Don't watch youtube before falling asleep.

Smoke said...

OMG! That is hilarious!

You asked him if he was old enough to remember Star Search? Bwahaha!

Smoke said...

I love the Garden Kitty by the way. I just want to scoop him up and squeeze him.

sdock10 said...

Yeah, I did and he tried to play off like he wasn't even born when that show came on.

Garden Kitty pretty much rules, right?

Smoke said...

Gah! That is funny.

Did you see the boots? Did you see Gerard's boots? Are they brown or were they at one time black and now they are all faded and worn?

O_o

Dude.

Smoke said...

And did TUA win anything?

sdock10 said...

Bless his heart. Just bless his little heart.

sdock10 said...

I don't think they will announce that stuff since it is going to air on the 21st, but I could be wrong.

I'm sure someone will let us know.

Smoke said...

Oh! Gabriel Ba won! YAY for him!

Smoke said...

The Last Men won best comic book.

The Dark Knight won pretty much EVERYTHING!

RDJ won for best actor in an action movie or something like that.

WHOOHOO!

sdock10 said...

Well, damn, there all that is.

Whoop! Whoop!

Carrie said...

As Miss T would say, Bless Gerard's little cotton socks. :) He can't help it he's beginning to look like a Michael Jackson wax offering at Madame Tussaud's all up in there. And Smoke, to answer you question, I had a rather violent reaction to Lisinopril. Evidently my body chemistry is not too compatible with it, but at least it only took me two doses to figure out what was causing it. I know you have the blood pressure thing going on too, which is surprising because you are all tiny and munchkin like. It's a pain finding out what stuff works, ain't it? I love the garden kitty picture, solly, and your dream was hilarimous.

Smoke said...

Gah! I ♥ Pink. I just watched her new video. I want her to be my friend. :)

Carrie! Glad you are doing better. Luckily, the meds the doc prescribed the first time worked for me. Well, they work when I remember to take them. O_O That's scary though!

sdock10 said...

Carrie,

I don't go to doctors. They just tell you that stuff is wrong, so I have no idea what might be wrong with me. I'm hoping the high blood pressure severe migraine stroke diabetes genes skipped me. Smoke seems to have inherited most of the stuff and I will just stay oblivious to it if I do have it.

Carrie said...

I like Pink too, I think she would make a good friend because she could kick the shit out of all the people who are mean. And you could just stand behind her going, "Yeah! Take that!"

Carrie said...

Solly, I should do the same dang thing. The doc's office actually called me this last time to make me come in for a blood pressure check, so I spent all weekend worrying and obsessing about it, which of course made my blood pressure spike, causing them to give me more prescriptions to try and murderlize me. I would have been better off if I had said, um, no thanks, I prefer to dwell on in my ignorance.

Smoke said...

Hahaha!

What's bad is I actually feel better when my blood pressure is up. So, it's like, "I DON'T WANNA TAKE MY MEDS! DON'T MAKE ME! I FEEEEL GOOOOOD!"

But, I don't wanna stroke out either so. And if it gets too high then the migraines start and I want to vomit. Literally.

Grrrr.

sdock10 said...

I like Pink too! I've actually seen her in concert in Orlando at the Hard Rock Live. That girl can sing and she puts on amazing show!

Yep, Carrie don't let the Docs murderlize you. Just say, umm no, no thanks to that. I feel fine.

And Gerard, just bless him, bless his little heart. He was so smiley cute. I don't wear shades so I admire anyone who can rock the shades like that.

He does make me want dig out all my boots though. I need me a good pair of worn out boots for the winter. I hear big chunky sweaters and tight leggings and jeans are all the rage this season.

Carrie said...

Ewww with vomity migraines. I know what you're saying though, my medicine makes me have corpse hands and be tired. I don't like having the high pressure though, makes my head feel big. :)

Carrie said...

Just don't be wearing those boots with your suit, Solly.

Smoke said...

Good God, Solly. He brought those boots back from 1984. O_o

Seriously, that's how old they are. And they've been worn every year since then.

GERARD! BUY SOME NEW BOOTS, PLEASE! AND DON'T TUCK YOUR PANTS IN! GAH!^_^

sdock10 said...

I wonder if those boots are made for walking or for stomping.

*starts singing Nancy Sinatra followed by Ice Cube*

sdock10 said...

Dude is a trendsetter and a fashion trailblazer.

That's why he needed those boots last night to blaze a new trail in the fashion world.

Bless his heart. Trailblazing can be scary.

Carrie said...

Those are definitely some hissy fit stompin boots.

Smoke said...

I was laughing at the pic of Gerard and Billy.

Billy looked like, "Oh, I'm so proud of my son! Ain't he something?!"

sdock10 said...

Smoke,

Maybe Gerard just made a boo boo like you did with your shoes the other day. Maybe they looked black at home, ya know? Maybe they matched until he looked down.

Bless him, he should have took off the shades while getting ready.

Carrie said...

Yeah, but even if he thought those things were black, getting all Farmer Brown and tucking his pants in? Just,no. Maybe that's the new "hardcore." We tuck our suits into our boots!!! We are hardcore!

Smoke said...

Bwahaha! I can't even say anything to that. I rocked the brown and black shoe. I did.

And I'm so fabulous that nobody even noticed. :)

Going to watch Diddy crack the whip on Danity Kane.

See you guys later! Have a great Sunday!

sdock10 said...

I am watching more bad reality tv too, Hulk Hogan's Celebrity Wrasslin!

Screech vs Willis

Bwah!

Carrie said...

Bye Smoke! I gotta scoot too and clean up the kitchen. We had family movie night last night and popped up a mess of popcorn, so my kitchen is currently a buttery oily mess. Wait, why do I have high blood pressure? Have a nice Sunday, gals!

Anonymous said...

Hey guys! What a cute pic, and Solly, I loved your dream. I would even be willing to bet that wee little Frankles would have shown up on Star Search, for realz. I can see that. ;D

You guys, when I get into school, I'll learn a nice, gentle, non-sick-making cure for your high blood pressure. Aaaaactually, you should all be doing T'ai chi. That is proven to lower blood pressure.

Well, once I'm done with the birds today, I am going out shopping with Mummy K for The Birthday Cluster. I'll probably show her Broken Bride again except it will make me all emo and give me the willies.

Whatchoo guys all doing today?

sdock10 said...

Hi Jules,

I'm gonna make Smoke ride with me and we're gonna take pretty fall pics for the blog. Yep, yep! We have our windows open here today and it feels like fall. I am giddy. My mama is baking a sweet tater pie! How freakin awesome is my life right now?

And your bday is Friday! WHOOP! WHOOP!

Rocktober rules!

OMG, it's FUCKFEST this week! FUCKFEST 2008!

Sweeeeeeeeet!

Anonymous said...

It really is awesome, Solly! I cn't wait to see you guys's pics! Please post them as soon as you get them together. :D

You just opened your windows, I just closed mine last week, and today I turned the heat on. It is as cold as a bitch here today. I'm busting out legwarmers and arm warmers.

:D

Gotta go. Later! Have fun!

sdock10 said...

I just downloaded Broken Bride! Prepare to watch Solly get all emo!

I'm warning all of you now.

sdock10 said...

Oh and can I just go ahead and scream before I get all emo that I can't fucking wait until November for TUA! I'm dying here.

Solly ♥s No 5.

sdock10 said...

And one more thing too since I'm already sort of emo today anyways...I just want to thank all of you guys for being such a great bunch to be around. I continuously learn from all of you. You guys have forced me to look at things about myself and pay more attention to the world around me.

So thank you for that.

p.s. PPU, where the fuck are you?

And with that, I'm gone for a bit. I will immerse myself in Ludo and the beautiful fall weather.

Love you guys!

I'm back! With birthday gifts and cards bought! :D Now I have the rest of the week to: Clean the house, 2 days of Kung Fu, one evening with my friends eating ice cream and watching movies, and one whole day to bake my specialty pie. :D

Solly, did you listen all the way through? And, did it make your eyes rain?

Hey, guys. :)

I just wanted to stop in and say hello to everyone. I hope you're all doing great.

I was Googling around looking for some lyrics, and I came across these from John Mayer. I kind of went, "Whoa." It's an interesting perspective and diametrically opposed to the lyrics I was originally trying to find. And then I thought to myself how weird it is that such a simple concept can be seen in a hundred different lights.

Belief
Is there anyone who ever remembers
Changing their mind from the paint on a sign?
Is there anyone who really recalls
Ever breaking record of
For something someone yelled real loud one time?
Oh, everyone believes
In how they think it oughta be
Oh, everyone believes
And they're not going easily

Belief is a beautiful armor
But makes for the heaviest sword
Like punching underwater
You never can hit who you're trying for
Some need the exhibition
And some have to know they tried
It's the chemical weapon
For the war that's raging on inside
Oh, everyone believes
From emptiness to everything
Oh, everyone believes
And no one's going quietly

We're never gonna win the world
We're never gonna stop the war
We're never gonna beat this
If belief is what we're fighting for

We're never gonna win the world
We're never gonna stop the war
We're never gonna beat this
If belief is what we're fighting for

Is there anyone you can remember
Ever surrender with their life on the line?

We're never gonna win the world
We're never gonna stop the war
We're never gonna beat this
If belief is what we're fighting for

We're never gonna win the world
We're never gonna stop the war
We're never gonna beat this
If belief is what we're fighting for

What puts a hundred thousand children in the sand?
Belief can, belief can
What puts a folded flag inside his mother's hand?
Belief can, belief can

But, then I also think that if you don't believe, where do you go from there? Like, if you don't believe in something, what do you have?

Anyway, it just made me think, which is never a bad thing!

Sdock, crazy dream by the way! Youtube can put some crazy things on your electrical pathways. O_o

Anonymous said...

Oh! I'm doing okay, thank you!

Anonymous said...

OMG, I love that last pic! We don't have critters like that up here. They'd freeze their little green heinders off.

I love your Gran's first house too. Is it still in your family?

Beautiful pics, everything is all green and blooming. Up here, everything's all closing down for cold times ahead. ^_^

Your eyes are going to rain when you listen to Broken Bride!

Anonymous said...

Splash,I think iTunes is the only place you can get it anymore. None of the stores out here had it, anyways and I think Amazon was a special order. O_O

Sweet, okay, I didn't know if I had to hunt Amazon or whatever for it.

I downloaded it from Amazon for 5 bucks!

Does it make you wonder what goes on in those daydreams?

Like, zombies? Or verdant, sundrenched fields? Or zombies on verdant, sundrenched fields?

sdock10 said...

Dude, for real. There's no telling.

sdock10 said...

*Smoke taps on the window*

Anonymous said...

I daydream about me in other lives, personally. Like one where I'm Japanese in the Heian or Meiji period and I'm superfly good-looking. :)

Or sometimes our Kung Fu school gets attacked by Ninjas and we have to battle them, and of course we win etc.

Really crazy random stuff. Those are my daydreams.

Anonymous said...

I was 69! WHOOP WHOOP!

Anonymous said...

Oh lookie, it is Mayo! He took his info down. ^_^

sdock10 said...

I guess my daydreams are full of pretty normal stuff, ya know?

Anonymous said...

We'd get shredded if we went to say hi to him thought.

Anonymous said...

sdock10 said...

Yep, I saw that, Jules.

sdock10 said...

Yep, I think I'll just stay here. What are you gonna do?

Anonymous said...

I guess I don't know from normal, Solly. i daydream about guys and stuff, but never things like settling down, buying a house or things like that. It's always like, ninjas and danger and adventures and such.

I'd make a crappy Jedi.

Anonymous said...

I'm staying here, too. I'd like to tell him hello, but it's not worth the drama it would cause.

sdock10 said...

Well, I guess I'm not even sure what I mean when I say normal stuff.

Happiness maybe? Satisfaction? Love? Passion?

Ruling the universe?

Smoke said...

Hello! :)

sdock10 said...

OMG, we are being accused of being over there when we're not even there. This is absurd.

Hi Smoke!

Smoke said...

Did you expect any different? I swear to God.

>_<

*waves to Mayo*

Sorry dude.

Anonymous said...

Hi Princess!

Ahh but Solly! Those things are encompassed in all sorts of fantasies. ^_^ It depends on what you consider "love" and "happiness" and that stuff.

Sometimes I guess my daydreams are normal, though. They're not all ninjas and zombies and beign a Meiji courtesan. ;)

Sometimes I'm just me, with a nice little dance studio (and recently, a nice little medical practice O_o Far-fetched, I know,) and a little son or daughter running around.

I guess that's normal. :D

Anonymous said...

Aaaaand here we go.

sdock10 said...

Right, Jules, I understand exactly what you're saying.

Smoke said...

Seriously.

sdock10 said...

*waves to EveryBUDDY*

Anonymous said...

Hammocks and fruity drinks rock my world. I do that sometimes in the summer already, though. :D

And I also daydream about reading fanfiction about my own novel. Because I think it would be so cool of someone was into my world so much so that they wanted to play in it. That must be so cool.

Anonymous said...

And I interview myself for after my novel is famous, too. O_O

I have three translations of "Song of Autumn" that I will post. Which is everyone's favorite? Tell. :)

Anonymous said...

En Francais:

Chant d'automne

I

Bientôt nous plongerons dans les froides ténèbres;

II

Même pour un ingrat, même pour un méchant;

--Charles Baudelaire

The second verse is the best one. It makes me think of Mayo. Hang on for translations.

Anonymous said...

I

Soon we shall plunge into the cold darkness;
Farewell, vivid brightness of our short-lived summers!
Already I hear the dismal sound of firewood
Falling with a clatter on the courtyard pavements.

All winter will possess my being: wrath,
Hate, horror, shivering, hard, forced labor,
And, like the sun in his polar Hades,
My heart will be no more than a frozen red block.

All atremble I listen to each falling log;
The building of a scaffold has no duller sound.
My spirit resembles the tower which crumbles
Under the tireless blows of the battering ram.

It seems to me, lulled by these monotonous shocks,
That somewhere they're nailing a coffin, in great haste.
For whom? — Yesterday was summer; here is autumn
That mysterious noise sounds like a departure.

II

I love the greenish light of your long eyes,
Sweet beauty, but today all to me is bitter;
Nothing, neither your love, your boudoir, nor your hearth
Is worth as much as the sunlight on the sea.

Yet, love me, tender heart! be a mother,
Even to an ingrate, even to a scapegrace;
Mistress or sister, be the fleeting sweetness
Of a gorgeous autumn or of a setting sun.

Short task! The tomb awaits; it is avid!
Ah! let me, with my head bowed on your knees,
Taste the sweet, yellow rays of the end of autumn,
While I mourn for the white, torrid summer!

I

Soon into frozen shades, like leaves, we'll tumble.
Adieu, short summer's blaze, that shone to mock.
I hear already the funereal rumble
Of logs, as on the paving-stones they shock.

Winter will enter in my soul to dwell —
Rage, hate, fear, horror, labour forced and dire!
My heart will seem, to sun that polar hell,
A dim, red, frozen block, devoid of fire.

Shuddering I hear the heavy thud of fuel.
The building of a gallows sounds as good!
My spirit, like a tower, reels to the cruel
Battering-ram in every crash of wood.

The ceaseless echoes rock me and appal.
They're nailing up a coffin, I'll be bound,
For whom? — Last night was Summer. Here's the Fall.
There booms a farewell volley in the sound.

II

I like die greenish light in your long eyes,
Dear: but today all things are sour to me.
And naught, your hearth, your boudoir, nor your sighs
Are worth the sun that glitters on the sea.

Yet love me, tender heart, as mothers cherish
A thankless wretch, Lover or sister, be
Ephemeral sweetness of the suns that perish
Or glory of the autumn swift to flee.

Brief task! The charnel yawns in hunger horrid,
Yet let me with my head upon your knees,
Although I mourn the summer, white and torrid
Taste these last yellow rays before they freeze.

I

soon shall we plunge 'neath winter's icy pall;
farewell, bright fires of too-brief July!
even now I hear the knell funereal
of falling fire-logs in the court close by.

once more on me shall winter all unroll:
wrath, hatred, shivering dread, Toil's cursèd vise,
and like the sun in his far hell, the pole,
my heart shall be a block of crimson ice.

I wait aghast each loud impending log;
thus, criminals 'neath rising gibbets cower.
o dreadful battering-ram! my soul, agog,
quivers and totters like a crumbling tower,

till to my dream the cradling echoes drum
like hammers madly finishing a bier.
— for whom? — June yesterday; now fall is come!
mysterious dirge, who has departed here?

II

I love your long green eyes of slumberous fire,
my sweet, but now all things are gall to me,
and naught, your room, your hearth nor your desire
is worth the sunlight shimmering on the sea.

yet love me, tender heart! a mother be
even to an ingrate, or a wicked one;
mistress or sister, be as sweet to me
as some brief autumn or a setting sun.

'twill not be long! the hungering tomb awaits!
ah! let me — brow at peace upon your knees —
savour, regretful of June's parching heats,
this balmy soft October, ere it flees!

I think I'll post that one up at Mayo's tomorrow morning.

I like the first one, Jules.

I like it, too. It's not as overbearing as the other two. At times they sound a little turgid, and I like die greenish light in your long eyes is a clumsy typo that throws me off. ;)

The Singing-Woman from the Wood's Edge

What should I be but a prophet and a liar,
Whose mother was a leprechaun, whose father was a friar?
Teethed on a crucifix and cradled under water,
What should I be but a fiend's god-daughter?

And who should be my playmates but the adder and the frog,
That was got beneath a furze-bush and born in a bog?
And what should be my singing, that was christened at an altar,
But Aves and Credos and Psalms out of Psalter?

You will see such webs on the wet grass, maybe,
As a pixie-mother weaves for her baby,
You will find such flame at the wave's weedy ebb
As flashes in the meshes of a mer-mother's web,

But there comes to birth no common spawn
From the love of a priest and a leprechaun,
And you never have seen and you never will see
Such things as the things that swaddled me!

After all's said and after all's done,
What should I be but a harlot and a nun?

In through the bushes, on foggy days,
My Da would come a-swishing of the drops away,
With a prayer for my death and a groan for my birth,
A-mumbling of his beads for all he was worth.

And there sit my Ma, her knees beneath her chin,
A-looking in his face and a-drinking of it in,
And a-marking in the moss some funny little saying
That would mean just the opposite of all he was praying!

He taught me the holy-talk of Vesper and of Matin,
He heard me my Greek and he heard me my Latin,
He blessed me and crossed me to keep my soul from evil,
And we watched him out of sight, and we conjured up the devil!

Oh, the things I haven't seen and the things I haven't known,
What with hedges and ditches till after I was grown,
And yanked both ways by my mother and my father,
With a 'Which would you better?" and a "Which would you rather?"

With him for a sire and her for a dam,
What should I be but just what I am?

Oh dude, that is awesome!

Alms

MY heart is what it was before
A house where people come and go,
But it is winter with your love:
The sashes are beset with snow.

I light the lamp and lay the cloth,
I blow the coals to blaze again,
But it is winter with your love:
The frost is thick upon the pane.

I know a winter when it comes:
The leaves are listless on the boughs.
I watched your love a little while,
And brought my plants into the house.

I water them and turn them south,
And snap the dead brown from the stem,
But it is winter with your love:
I only tend and water them.

There was a time I stood and watched
The small, ill-natured sparrows' fray;
I loved the beggar that I fed,
I cared for what he had to say,

I stood and watched him out of sight;
Today I reach around the door
And set the bowl upon the step.
My heart is what it was before,

But it is winter with your love:
I scatter crumbs upon the sill,
And close the window--and the birds
May take or leave them, as they will.
