Auto-pilot

It happens.
You're driving, except, you're not really driving.
Not really concentrating, except, you are concentrating, just not on driving.
The lines blur.
The puddles look like black alien blob-like creatures out of some science fiction movie that went straight to vhs circa 1988 and they are going to come through the windshield and grab you, except you don't care.
Until, the flash of light out of the corner of your eye or was that a dog or a deer or perhaps a hitchhiker makes you snatch the wheel and jerk just enough to scare the shit out of you, except it's not quite enough to bring you back down to earth from whatever planet you're visiting this time. Probably the one, where the black blob-like ones come from.
Nope.
You're somewhere else entirely, except that it's not some place new.
It's where you always go when you're trying like hell to run away, except you can't figure out if you're supposed to be running away from it or running towards it.
Stop sign.
Turn signal.
Yield to oncoming traffic.
You're almost home, except you're not really, not really.
Unlock the door and you walk inside, except you're still on the outside looking in or the inside looking out.
At what?
Those big black blob-like alien things that followed you home, except this is their home and now, you're the fucking alien.
The fucking alien that is disguised as a human playing the part of the robot.

Your writing is always so darn good. Just wanted to explain my most current absence--I have unfortunately joined the 2009 "Year of the Suck" club, and my Dad is in the hospital with a possible stroke, but hopefully at least of the smaller variety. And my power cord is fried too, but that's a much lesser issue. Just wanted to check in and say I miss y'all.

Guys, it wasn't minor after all. He's not expected to live and I have to leave for VA. Thanks for the good thoughts.

I just got a text that let me know that my co-worker's Mother had just passed away. She had spent most of the past 8 years struggling with diabetes and failing kidneys. At one point she was on dialysis and a few years ago had received a kidney transplant. After that, she came off dialysis and was doing better, but ended up losing her legs to the diabetes. I can't count the times that she was near death. My co-worker would come to work crying, scared that her Mother wasn't going to make it through the day. A couple of weeks ago, her kidney stopped functioning again and this Mother let her daughter know that it was time to stop. No more dialysis. No more treatments. No more hospitals. It was time to go home.

So, that's what my co-worker did. She choked back the tears and the urge to try and convince her Mother to keep fighting and she brought her home.

She said it was the hardest trip she ever had to make because she knew it was going to be the last one.

She came by work this morning to let us know how she was holding up and that her Mom had not eaten anything since Monday night and had not spoken since Tuesday. She knew the time was getting closer. As she was leaving the office, she said that all she could do was pray for strength to help her make it through.

And really I guess that's all we can do, find strength...digging deep from within, in prayer, or by leaning on family and friends for support. We hold tight and then we let go.

I'm thinking of her tonight and I'm thinking of Carrie and I'm thinking of the ones who have recently been going through some pretty hard times.

Let's always try and be here for each other if we need to talk, a shoulder, a hand to hold, a good cry, a good scream, or if we just want to forget for a little bit, let's do our best to make each other laugh. (We seem to be really good at that last one.)

Just felt like sharing that with ya'll, and I think we might better stop saying that 2009 can't get any worse, because, seriously????

Anyhow...

Love you Guys!

Hey guys.

It's hard to talk about, but depending on how things are going with Gran, I think I might be canceling my trip to China. I was just at the hospital and I can't imagine going away while this is going on.

I just don't know what to do. I have to wait and see.

Carrie, I could not be sorrier for what's happening with you and your family. I feel terrible for you. I'm thinking about you and your family. Take care of yourself.

Carrie said...

Aw K, I do hope things turn around enough for you to take your trip. What the fuck is up with this year? But, you know what? It has been so nice hearing from all of you and knowing you are thinking of me. It helps, it really does. I talked to my brother earlier, and yeah, Dad isn't going to make it through the night, but he's sorta gone already. He did have a mini stroke to start with, and they were actually getting ready to release him this morning, when things hit the shit chute and he had a major brain stem stroke. After that, they couldn't maintain his blood pressure without huge amounts of drugs, and when I talked to my brother earlier he said they had signed a DNR order, so if he coded again that was it. And actually, ironically we laughed about the stupid thoughts we were having, like oh we were glad they finally ran the race this weekend so he got to see it, and how I should probably cancel his Netflix subscription because I know Mom doesn't care anything about movies. There probably won't be a funeral, and I know Mom is having him cremated. So I guess this next week will just be us all figuring out how we go on from here. I might stay two weeks, depending on my Mom--she may be more resilient than I think and be trying to kick me out by the end of the week. Plus there's my big time deli job to think of, but if they give me shit, yeah, I will tell them to go suck a slicer. I know I'm rambling and not half as eloquent as Solly, but I just wanted to thank you guys again. I'm taking my laptop. but my power cord is still iffy and to be honest I know my Dad has some sort of service, but not sure what. I will try to be in touch. And hah, Solly, the title of this entry says it all, that is what I am in now, the Auto-pilot stage. My sympathies to your co-worker, and to you K, and everyone else who is currently enduring the Year of the Suck. I think we need t-shirts or some shit.

farawaysoclose said...

hi guys!

Solly, that's a really sad story about your co worker's mother. really tough.

Carrie, your news is just so sudden and dreadful and my thoughts are with you.

K, i hope you make the trip, it would be such a shame to miss it. but i do understand where you are coming from.

hi miss T!

hi to everyone else also.

it's friday, but it's not feeling very happy.

Jules,

I hope Granny K improves and you are able to go to China. I know how much you've been looking forward to it, but I also know how close you are to your family. I'm sure they would all tell you to go and enjoy yourself and this great opportunity, but it would be really hard to go and not think about what's going on back home.

Love ya!

Carrie,

Just still thinking about you and your whole family this morning. I actually woke up and for a split second I was like, "is this really happening? did I dream all this terrible shit?" And then reality hit, and I checked the year, yep still 2009, the year of suckage. I'm still hoping our t-shirts can say something like this...

2009, Started off sucking really hard, but in the end, things turned out better than we could have imagined.

You're strong, Carrie and one of the things I love about you and your family is that ya'll always try your damnedest to find humor in everything.

Here's to me hoping you can always find something to smile about.

Love ya!

FASC,

Hope you have a lovely afternoon. Don't let your lil munchkins drive you completely insane!

To everyone else, let's try and have a nice Friday!

Love ya'll!

Hi guys, it's not looking too good in the long term. I hope Gran can come home and have a last springtime here where she can see her garden without having too much pain and frustration; that's about the best I can hope.

Still not sure about China because it's up in the air how long she actually has. A month or two or three months, there's no way to really tell.

Believe me, apart from the stress of all the hospital stuff and not knowing where I, or anyone will be a few weeks from now, I'm pretty okay. I adore my Grandma and we are so close, but knowing there's absolutely nothing you can do about it surprisingly takes some of the edge off.

I'm sure it will be different when she's gone, because I love her so much and I am so used to seeing her every day or so in her garden. But for right now I'm dealing and so is everyone else, sort of.

Carrie I hope you are hanging in there and I'm so sorry for what you're going through.

I'm sorry also if there are tons of typoes in here because a patchof my screen s is covered up by my brightness-contrast thing which won'tget off my desktop and keeps randomly resetting the monitor settings. I think I have that conficker wor thing. >_<

Smokey, thanks. You're awsome too. :)

Kapunua, would you be able to reschedule your trip to next semester maybe?

Lot's of death so far this year. I'm hoping it's coming in like a lion and out like a lamb.

Anonymous said...

Hey Jenn. :)

I could, and I'd only lose $150. But the thing is, she could possibly (though not likely) make it till August, too. It could be a few weeks or it could be a few months.

I just don't know what to do.

Here's a weird thing. Mayo seems to write posts that I end up relating to really strongly a few weeks later. He wrote that one about his dog dying a few weeks before I lost my dog. Then he wrote about his friend losing his job, right before I lost mine. More recently he wrote that one about losing a loved one who was supposed to go home to hospice care but never made it. And now I'm just nervous that that's another post of his that I'm going to be able to relate to in a while, too.

How odd, the things we think of.

farawaysoclose said...

i'm hoping just coincidental K!! ^

alot of bad times here at the moment. sorry for the news on your Gran.

it is scary isn't it? i mean death. is it better to see it coming? or to be underprepared? i have no idea of the answer to that, it all hurts like hell. i think you just respond in different ways because of how it presents itself.

my dad died when i was 8 years old in a fire. he was 40 yrs old. obviously that fucks you up a certain amount, but as a kid, i missed him, and then i struggled to remember certain things about him. as an adult i felt sad i had not known him as an adult, we never went to the pub together, he never met my kids.

my best friend's dad died when she was 23 years old from a massive heart attack, he was in his early 50's. it devastated her. i wouldn't have swapped with her at that moment. i really wouldn't have. when she was crying to me down the phone saying that she was sorry she wasn't supportive of me when my dad died when we were kids, she couldn't understand then how it felt. i thought i really wouldn't swap for the grief she was going through, because children deal with things very differently, and they do deal. another thing is that for children, a year seems like a lifetime, and you have healed in that time. whereas, as adults, a year is nothing at all.

i still missed out on him, and i would sacrifice alot to remember his voice, and for him to have known the adult me. but we don't get to choose.

i think my point is that death of a loved one is so painful whatever the circumstance. i don't think anyway is easier or harder. it is all just very very painful.

sorry to be all down guys but i have been pondering on all that is going on here in Blogbelieve.

love to you all.

farawaysoclose said...

just read that through...this is not a pity post, i know you guys know that. i was just comparing circumstances here and relating it to my life experience, that's all.

take care guys.

Sorry to hear about your co-worker's parents' house. I'm glad no one was hurt.

FASC,

Thank you for sharing your story with us. I'm sorry that you lost your father at such a young age. I know you miss him and you missed out on having him in your life and your children's lives. I can't imagine having a void like that. I know one thing, though, He would be proud of you and the woman you've become. You're an unbelievable wife, mother, and friend, and you're one of the sweetest, most caring, realest of the real people that I have ever met.

I just wonder what he'd think of you're filthy as fuck mouth. He'd probably get a kick out of it and find it just as awesome as I do.

I love ya, FASC. Don't you ever change.

Hi porch, how are we today?

FASC, thanks for sharing your story about your dad. One thing that got me through when dad died was that we were such a close family with lots of great memories. My mum pointed out another friend who's dad was alive but not around much and said "isn't it better to have had all these years of love and then dad die then to have a dad alive who was a worthless piece of shit".

I think everyone who looses someone has to remember the good memories to keep that person alive.

Carrie, I'm so sorry for you loss. Please try to take comfort in the memories right now. Look after your mum sweetie. And see what I wrote above. You had a great dad with great memories and that will never leave you.

K, I'm sorry to hear about your gran situation. It's difficult not knowing what to do for the best. You'd love to go to China but you love your gran and I think if anything happened while you were away, you'd regret not being there. It's great if you are able to postpome it. It would be greater still of your gran got well enough for you to be able to make this trip knowing she'll be there when you got back. I have my fingers crossed for you.

Solly and RW, I'm so sorry to hear about what's happened to your co-workers. It really has been a shit year so far. That is why I am gonna book that Dr's appointment for my boobs even though after chucking the bras, my boobs have been fine. It would be just my bad luck for something to be wrong so I'm going with the expectation it will be. If I'm fine it will be a pleasant surprise.

This year sucks.

Hi guys, I should probably give you all an update but I know that this stuff is really a drag and I don't want to be depressing.

It's pointless to talk about this at Mayo's, if any of you saw what happened last night when someone told me that it was my fault that my Gran is dying and I deserve it.

I think they are definitely trying to provoke me to say things similar to what people have said to me unprovoked so they can go, "zOMGzz look at what she said!! SHE IS NO BETTER!" When in fact I am, because I've never said anything terirble to anyone unprovoked, and even the things I did say when provoked have not come close to the things that have been said to me, well, you know, unprovoked.

I'm not going to do it, because those people are wrong, and they get nothing from me (any of them,) but it still sucks to read it.

Anyway, the whole thing with my Gran and China etc. is just that optimism at this point is a bit useless. She's dying, and I canceled the trip. There's no way around it and no use in wishing that something might change. Like she told me yesterday, this is just the way it is and it's no one's fault.

After another emergency trip to the vet today (Haku's incision / scar just won't seem to heal and he was in a lot of pain,) I was supposed to go shopping because I have no food! But I don't have any time to do that. My chemistry final is today and I feel pretty confident about it, and the channels and points one is tomorrow and I'm going to fail that one for sure. Urgh.

Well, I'm going to keep this visit brief. THank you all for all of your kind words. I'm sorry if I haven't gotten back to everyone; it's just so hectic and everything, but I do appreciate it and I hope you all know that!

Jennicula said...

FASC: Thank you for sharing your story about your dad. I didn't get a chance to say anything yesterda and I wanted to let you know I read it.

Kapunua: I saw what went on last night. It's just horrible. What you're going through and what they are saying to you. Just remember - Karma, baby. I left a message on your blog the other day for you.

China isn't going anywhere. It will be there in 3 months or in 3 years. You should go when the time is right and you can truly enjoy this once in a lifetime experience.

farawaysoclose said...

thanks Jenn, i appreciate that. hope you are doing good?

K, i am sorry for what you are going through with your Gran. and Jenn is right, China isn't going anywhere. not unless something very freaky happens anyway!!

i had a skim at mayo's and caught the comment. some people are just sick you know. anyway you are better than all of that and you know it. i hope your Gran is comfy and doing OK. from the quotes you posted at Mayo's she is one clever lady!

hope Haku is doing OK?

right if i've missed stuff i do apologise. my kids have been fucking with my brain! it's the constant noise! well, singing! my girls sing all the fucking time. all the fucking time! sometimes it can be The Used or Ludo or MCR or whatever. but mainly because they are 6 and 9 yrs it tends to be Hannah Montana, High School musical and Camp Rock. seriously, some of those tunes are tuneless!!

anyway all's well. we have been trying to do DIY and general home improvements whilst trying to ignore the 3 of them playing in the garden! did a pretty good job of it today!

take care everyone!

Anonymous said...

Thank you!

Guys, I just can't believe it. I came home from my chem final and Dad called me and said, "Go see Grandma." He sounded happy though. I went to her place and there she was in her chair watching her TV like nothing was wrong. When I left this morning she was slurring her words and trying to give away all her belongings to me, calling her Ma and Dad and saying she wanted to go.

But just before she said to me, "It's great when the doctors tell you you'll never get out of your bed again, and then you do. Three weeks sick in bed is too much for me! And Belle missed me." (Belle is her dog.)

Now, I realize that she's in heart failure and she still doesn't have too long. But, if she can get around a little with a walker (which she's never used before, but if she does now, hey that's great!) and she can get herself to the bathroom and she can sit outside in her garden when it's warmer, then that's all I can ask for and I'm so glad for it!

Haku is on some pain meds and anti-inflammatories and he is feeling worlds better. Still no known reason why he's taking so long to heal, but I'll take what I can get. :)

farawaysoclose said...

K that is great news!

and, not that i am a doctor, but congestive heart failure can, in some patients, be a long (ish ish) term illness. definitely chronic rather than acute. but then i am not a doctor. great news either way!

you are going through alot right now K. anyway nice seeing you here.

But! Just her getting up and about and being happy and lucid again is so awesome, it makes me very happy. ^_^

Just a quick in and out from me tonight cos I've got a dr's appointment stupid early in the morning. I'm off to have the breasticles manhandled (womanhandled, I was a wimp and asked for a womand Dr). I shall let you know how it goes tomorrow.

LOL! I think my doctor hears angels sing and there is sunshine and rainbows when he looks at mine. Plus, it's got diamonds. I mean, come on, I am a princess after all.

Bwah!

I can't believe I actually typed that out!

I absolutely hate that shit. I am so like 'little miss proper' when it comes to that I get all just beside myself. And then he starts talking about our hospital. Casual conversation about our hospital. WTF, dude? I have to see you walk down the hall at that hospital because we both work there! But I will say this, after the fifth one while I was pregnant I was like, "Eff this, I don't give a shit anymore!" All that modesty goes right out the window.

We listen to CBC radio (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) at work and one of our favourite shows is Q, an arts and entertainment show based out of Toronto. Today's guest was Billy Bob Thornton:

If you thought Jaoquin Pheonix on David Letterman was bad, watch this!

resurrected wreck said...

q@cbc.ca is accepting Billy Bob-themed haikus based on the interview in the link above.

K, this means you!

farawaysoclose said...

morning!

Billy Bob is an ass! seriously! i thought the radio guy did a good job of turning it around. it annoys me that people don't realise they are only getting that interview because of their past achievements! so to not mention he is an actor/director whatever is kinda ridiculous! anyway just cringeworthy, and he made himself look like a tool! he only made himself look worse for being so fucking petty! the poor guys who have to be in the band with him! god they looked so uncomfortable!

the dancing one was great RW!

my delete above! i take things too far at times. haha!

LOL! I think my doctor hears angels sing and there is sunshine and rainbows when he looks at mine. Plus, it's got diamonds. I mean, come on, I am a princess after all.

hysterical, proncess!

have good wednesdays people!

farawaysoclose said...

make that thursdays!

i am out of routine with these school holidays!

sdock10 said...

FASXC,

I was totally rolling with the Wednesday thing and now I'm extremely happy that it's Thurzdee. Wheeeeeeeee!

Today is Gee Whiz's birthday too.

Damn this year is flying by with a quickness.

Have a great one, you guys!

Smoke said...

And by Gee Whiz, you mean Gerraaaawwwwrrrrrddd, right?
Cuz that is what Shake and Meatwad call Jesus. O_O

Bwahahaha.

Awww, he's older than me again! Yay!

Smoke said...

I wonder just how many 'happy birthday' tweets he will get today?

Jeez.

O_o

sdock10 said...

Umm, I'm guessing round abouts 32 thousand and more.

o_O

Yeah, Guh-rawrd, that's kind of the way we say it down here.

Smoke,

Ring, ring...hello??

sdock10 said...

I think I should've done it like this...

Juh-rawwrd.

Yeah, now it looks like it sounds.

Hi everyone, how are you all?

LOL all that crotch talk made me laugh.

Anyways, I got my boobs womanhandled and they are fine. It was just bloody awful bras. She said if it was anything else the pain wouldn't have gone away. So that's that sorted.

farawaysoclose said...

FASXC

ooh i like that solly!

hi proncess and RW!

miss T that's great news!

wow, solly and proncess! you pronounce his name really funny. over here it is 'Jeh-raaard' very English.(the guy on LOTMS with the microwave coffee comment is about how it is). miss T probably has some Northern take on that, maybe, 'Jeh-raahd'??

another birthday! the years are a flying!

anyway Easter weekend kicking in, we have a tonne of family stuff planned, but i will pop in when i can. have really lovely long weekends porchies!

MissTottenham said...

Hiya FASC sweetie. You enjoy the long easter weekend too.

resurrected wreck said...

Hi :)

MissTottenham said...

Hiya RW sweetie, how are you?

resurrected wreck said...

My Billy Bob Thornton haiku:

Brooding atists who
Don't want to haul around drums
Should take up the flute

resurrected wreck said...

Hull, Miss T :)

Good news about your boobs!

MissTottenham said...

Thanks sweetie.

I shall celebrate with pizza tomorrow hahahaha!

resurrected wreck said...

Excellent! I think you should do that!!

resurrected wreck said...

Any plans for the weekend, besides pizza?

MissTottenham said...

Eating all my easter goodies. how about you?

resurrected wreck said...

Gonna go thrift store scrounging in Kensington Market, I think.

MissTottenham said...

Ooooooo I love markets.

resurrected wreck said...

Me too :) I haven't had a good thrift store scrounge in ages!

MissTottenham said...

Nowt better.

We've been doing a lot of that lately cos that nice little old lady we take shopping loves all that.

resurrected wreck said...

I used to love it when I was a starving student. Then I got out of it for a bit, but love it again, just in time for the recession - whee! ;)

MissTottenham said...

LOL, you can find some right bargains. I find these shops are the best place to find great cheap velvet or suede jackets.

resurrected wreck said...

Very true. I've also developed a thing lately for late '60s/early '70s clothing, and they've got those in spades in the thrift & vintage shops here.

MissTottenham said...

Oh yeah, they are great for that.

Can't beat em really.

So, you on the lookout for anything specific?

resurrected wreck said...

A summer dress would be nice. Or some funky boots.

MissTottenham said...

Ooooooo yeah. I've been looking for boots but not seen anything in my size yet. I've resorted to ebay.

Hi everyone,

I just want to let you know, Grandma died this afternoon at 3:12, at home with my Mom, my two cousins and me by her bed. She was 89.

Even if you just met her once or even if you just saw her, you know how lovely she was.

By the way, Grandma's last words were, "Love each other," and I wanted to tell you all that, too. :)

MissTottenham said...

Oh K sweetie. How are you feeling?

I'm so so sorry you have lost your amazing gran. I'm glad that she is at peace now. That's no consolation for losing a loved one though.

She sounded like a really nice person. I was reading your gran quotes the other day and they were great.

resurrected wreck said...

I'm sorry, K :(

By the way, Grandma's last words were, "Love each other," and I wanted to tell you all that, too. :)

Your grandma was a wise woman :)

Solly said...

Oh my Gosh, Jules. I am so, so sorry.

Smoke said...

Jules,

I am so very sorry. :(

Even if you just met her once or even if you just saw her, you know how lovely she was.

I did get to meet her once and I feel honored. She was the sweetest thing.

Please give your Mom, Dad and the rest of your family all my love and tell them that I am thinking of them. And you too, Jules.

♥ you.

ergoproxy said...

so sorry to hear your news K, deepest sympathies to you and your family, I can tell you'll miss her very much, but you also have so many wonderful memories of the lady you have cherished being part of your life, and they will be something you can treasure forever

Thank you all very much. I don't know what to say. I wish you could have all met my Gran. She was hilariously funny, sharp as a tack, and she had a biting wit, which she would always deliver with one eyebrow arched. She could beat any boy at any sport, and she excelled in science, especially biology.

She had so much life experience I can't even imagine it.

With diabetes since she was in her sixties, she still worked well into her seventies. I don't mean just housework, I mean she had a job, with physical labor, into her seventies.

She was also always having parties and wasn't afraid to tussle with the craziest of them. my parents love to tell this story of a new years eve bar fight in the 1970's where my Gran hit some guy on the head with a bottle of wine because he was bothering her daughter (my Mom.)

She also liked to sing and make up her own songs, which she was doing even up until tuesday.

I just can't possibly tell you guys enough about her. ^_^

sdock10 said...

Jules,

Reading about your Gran, it almost sounds like I could be reading about you.

I swear, I can't type anything without freakin' crying tonight, nor can I seem to find the right words.

Nothing seems like enough for such a special lady.

Just know that I'm sharing in your grief tonight and sending you all my love.

Anonymous said...

Thank you, Solly.

I told Gran last night (I took a few minutes to talk to her,) that I had always wanted to be like her in many ways. So a lot of how I am, I owe to her influence.

My Mom is unfailingly tough when she needs to be, but she is a very gentle lady. My Gran was never one of those gentle ladies and I think I get a lot of that from her. ;)

Amongst the sadness this made me smile.

Having read her grandaughter for a few years now, it was very easy to get some idea of how much a vibrant personality your Gran had.

What a wonderful gift, that with your Gran's recent lucidity and clarity, you were all able to exchange your love and words.

So sorry for your loss, Kapunua.

resurrected wreck said...

Hullo? Anybody around?

farawaysoclose said...

hi guys!

just popping in quickly.

Kapunua, i am so sorry for your loss. your Grandma sounded like a smart, funny and wise lady. it is very sad. i am thinking of you and your family.

hey to everyone else! hope you are doing good?

gotta go. love to you all!

anon 4.27, i don't even know what to say. this isn't a game, somebody died. just leave it.

Smoke said...

Deleted.

I will not allow that bullshit here. Not now. Not ever. Not about something like that.

Hey FASC! Hope you are doing well! I'm on my way home! YAY!

See ya later!

Anonymous said...

I must have missed something, and I'm probably glad I did. :)

Guys, thank you, all of you. Today is just plain weird and occasionally sucky, like when I heard a mockingbird singing this morning and Grandma wasn't whistling back to it out her door. (She always answered bird calls.)

PP, thank you! And it's so good to see you 'round these parts. :)

Anonymous said...

Hey you guys, funniest video I've seen in a long time.

And because I know I never click on a link where people just say "OMG this is funny / amazing, cool, check it out!" it's a news report from The Onion about that brand new Sony gadget everyone's dying to get.

I laughed so hard I had tears.

Anonymous said...

Aww guys, I'm so happy, S(S)S came around today. Did you see him?

WTF, that's a dumbass question, all you have to do is read to "see" him. The hell is wrong with me sometimes?

Smoke said...

That was the funniest video, Jules! My husband was like, "What in the hell is that?"

LOL!

Solly said...

Hahah, that video rocks!

Anonymous said...

Isn't that the bomb? :)

Pickled Possum said...

PP, thank you!

You're welcome, sweetie. I hope today is a little bit easier for you than yesterday, and the day before.

I hope all porch dwellers get to enjoy a pleasant, lazy Saturday. =)

Happy Easter guys!

hope you are all doing OK? thinking of you all.

sorry so brief!

Carrie said...

Guess what I'm having for Easter dinner? (Which is what lunch is called here, for some reason) Pinto Beans and mac and cheese and cornbread! Gotta love the South. Hope everyone is doing well!

Smoke said...

CORNBREAD FTMFW!

I ♥ me some cornbread! ^_^

Hiya Carrie! Hope you have a lovely Easter dinner today. Miss ya!

And in NASCAR news (cuz I know you all love it as much as I do):

He's just a baby boy! For real!

O_O

Damn!

sdock10 said...

Happy Easter, Guys!

Cornbread, YUM!

Mummy K and cousin Chrissie are going to collaborate on baked stuffed shells this afternoon. I will be at my house studying for my STUPID final tomorrow. >_< But I will go there for dinner though. Mummy K makes the frigging best effing spaghetti sauce you ever tasted in your whole goddamn life, and she's not even Italian. My Dad is though, and even he agrees. ^_^

Anonymous said...

They're just disgusting over there.

Carrie said...

My cornbread was goooood, I soaked it with my pinto bean juice. Stuffed shells sound good too! I had to go buy myself some tossed salad fixins' yesterday though, I am feeling fresh vegetable deprived. I haven't eaten "normal" in over a week, and it's starting to wear on me.

farawaysoclose said...

hi K, proncess, solly, Carrie, PP and anyone else about to appear in the nearish future!

Kapunua that video you posted ^ up there was too funny!

right i am just in and out!

hope you are all good and well and super duper?!

farawaysoclose said...

and shit my mother-in-law's roast dinner was toptastic! she doesn't do things by halves.

we had roast turkey and roast pork (with apple sauce), little sausages, roast potatoes, peas, runner beans, carrots, cauliflower cheese, parsnips, mashed turnip with butter and pepper, cabbage, onion rings, yorkshire puddings (although it's not roast beef) and gravy! fucking lovely!

three puddings - apple strudle with clotted (don't vom solly) cream or double cream, toffee cheesecake and profiteroles with double cream! i actually didn't have pudding cos i had seconds of the fucking lovely veggies! my mother in law rules for Sunday Dinners!!

seeya everyone!

farawaysoclose said...

did dinner warrant a capital D? not sure? considering i don't really usually use capitals and then they are haphazard at best, i think probably yes!

farawaysoclose said...

Dinners

i am gone.

Solly said...

profiteroles

^

WTF is that?

FASXC,

Your meal sounded divine and don't worry, I didn't vom at the clotted stuff, since now I know what is it.

But clotted, really? Was lumpy already taken or something?

Hope you guys had a wonderful Sunday! We had the best day here in Georgia. The weather was picture perfect ahhhhhmayyyzing!!!

Solly said...

I also forgot to mention, CORNBREAD, Fuck yeahhhh! And Jules, you made me hungry for some Italian food.

We had beef roast and potatoes, chicken, stuffing, green beans, corn on the cob, peas, fried okra, and deviled eggs!!! Italian Cream cake for dessert!

I am not who you think

Anonymous said...

How do you know?

I'm betting you are.
May Love tempt you but always remain just out of your reach.
May tragedy and illness be your only companion in life.
May you die that lonely crazy old lady that has 40 cats on her porch and the kids throw rocks at her house on their way home from school.
And the next time you try to tell another human being anything so vile as what you told this person may your tongue lock in your throat.
Go back to your side of the fence you vile.......IT.

Hiya Ladies!

I just wanted to wish ya a better night over here. And Kapu, no words. I'm just sorry about all this. I do hope to get to read more of your crazy wonderful grandma though. I would really love to hear more about her. I have my father parents left. We don't get to see each other much, but they have always been a part of me. My mamo, all through my childhood, she liked to tell me of all the ways children can die -When They Don't Listen. ;p I haven't been on a ferris wheel since I was nine. Yeah.

She now likes to tell me of all the ways adults, "especially single, unmarried (you like how she says both there? Oh, me too!), difficult young women with interesting hair and inappropriately implying tattoo's... That Have No Children!" -can die.

She's nutz. But I love her. ;p Please do share more of your awesome gran, wherever you feel up to it Kapu. I know there are a lot of us that do want to hear about her. No matter what else is said.

Again, just hope you ladies are having a good night. Love to ya<33
