joy and horror, pain, elation,
in a story, small salvation
And here is laughter, here we're free
to be whatever we may be
and though others may disagree,
we greet the castle, greet its lord
and do so of our own accord
and shun the frothing, rabid horde
Be it known I'd so much rather
read my friends and all their "blather,"
on the porch here, where we gather.

'Tis true. The friendships that have been made, the bonds that have been formed will hopefully last a lifetime.
I hope that somewhere along the way we have helped and learned things from each other, SS, and Mayo.
The growth and changes in myself have been nothing short of remarkable.

With friendship there is strength. The belief in ones worth is reinforced when it wavers. There is shared humour, love and laughter. Friendship is one of the greatest gifts to receive, and to reciprocate with.
I believe many of the bonds amongst people here will endure.

I think I'm gonna have to swim home today.
Hurrican Floyd (a few years ago) dropped 10" of rain on us. It was actually scary having that much rain around. There wasn't any place for it to go.
My boy was picked up by my sitter, but we got flooded between her house and ours, so he was stuck there over night.
My dude and I had to bail out the basement and dig trenches around the house so the flowing water would not pour directly into my house.
It wasn't fun.
I'll stick with the sunshine today.
That's scary! It hasn't stopped raining all day and they don't think it's going to anytime soon. I'm afraid the schools are going to have a time with buses getting stuck on the dirt roads today. Not good.
LHM doesn't ride one, thank goodness. He'd prolly think it was fun though.
