Smoke's Sloss Review!
Alright, this will probably be a little spastic but here goes! So, this is how much I love My Chemical Romance, right? Last year, I drove to Tampa twice to see them. Once, to Tampa and back in the same day. Not an easy trip really but it was well worth it. This time, we decided on Birmingham. Now, let me just say this, I love the South. I really do. The people in Birmingham are extremely nice and very helpful to two lost as fuck Georgia girls. Well, as far as the trip goes, I’ll make a long story short. Bald tires on a 120,000 mile car that’s been wrecked a few times plus a 6 hour drive does not make for a stress-free ride. We did make it though. Niiiiice. I even had to go buy some new tires. Yuck.Just a side-note, there ain’t a meffin’ thing in Birmingham. Just sayin’…..We get to Sloss Furnace about 1:30 and the show started about 7:00. There were kids that had been there all morning. It was pretty cool though. The only bad thing was there was no restrooms. A big thank you to all the McDonald’s for helping us out. ^_^Okay, so me and Sdock finally get in a little after 6:00 and head down to the stage. There were no seats at all. It was like a big warehouse or shelter really. Drive By opens up and I was really impressed by them. Seriously, they are good. Gonna buy me a cd when I get a chance for sure. Billy Talent was next. I didn’t really get into them but he did say a really cool thing about how the people there had renewed his faith in good people. It was nice. Now, Solly and I have been in the pit this whole time and it was okay. Not that bad. I was in da PIT! ^_^ Oh boy, I had no idea what I was in for. After Billy Talent was through, all hell breaks loose. Girls started pushing and shoving and NOBODY WAS ON STAGE! WTF? I had no idea that fifteen year old girls could be so evil. There were people smaller than me there and it was scary. When MCR hit the stage, we were no more than fifteen feet away from Frank Iero. FRANK MEFFIN’ IERO! OMG! Yeah, I am fangirling for a bit. Sorry, but the dude is awesome. Snap back to reality. Shoving, pushing, not being able to breathe. It was like hell had opened up and it was being run by a bunch of teenage girls. O_O We did manage to have two big boys beside us. They were about 6’4 and 200lbs. Niiiiice. The one behind me was all squishy. I tell ya, I had to get over my fear of touching people real quick and if nine months from now I find myself in labor, I know why. Trouble is, I won’t know the daddy. O_oSdock lost her phone. Some girl got trampled. We had to leave. So we went to the back and stood for the rest of the show. It was awesome, as usual. Gerard was sick and you could tell he was having a hard time but he still sounded awesome. Mikey was head banging! That was cool. It was the first time I got to see Mikey. YAY! What can I say about them that hasn’t already been said? Those guys are something special. I do believe that. After the show, we went out and waited around the gate where the bus would be leaving. It was us and about thirty kids. I was so hoping that Frank would come out and talk to us but he didn’t.:( It’s cool though, ya know? I understand that sometimes they just can’t. I just wanted to tell him about these two little girls I had overheard earlier that day. They couldn’t have been more than eleven or twelve and they were so excited to be there. They were the cutest things all dressed up. When MCR’s bus pulled in that afternoon, we all walked over to the fence and watched it. They were squealing and laughing. Then I overheard one of them talking about Frank. You’d expect them to be talking about how cute he is or how pretty Gerard is but no, that’s not what she said. She said, “Frank is so awesome because when he plays onstage, you can see how much he enjoys it. He smiles.” That’s all she said. That was just so awesome to me and I thought he’d like to hear that. To know that there are still fans out there, even the little ones, that can see his passion and appreciate it. So, I almost tripped over my bottom lip while walking back to the car….:( Nah! It was all good! Hell, I tried and failed at the pit but managed to keep my husband's $200 sunglasses on top of my head! And now, I am so glad to be back here! I’ve missed you all so much!

Good morning, Porch Dwellers!
Smoke:
Just wanted to thank you for taking the time to write a review of the concert! I had a smile on my face the whole time I was reading it last night. To hear it from you guys, it's pretty cool. :)
And the part about the two little girls still makes me beam with delight. And it makes me happy to know that even at their age, they get it. They understand and appreciate it and don't take it for granted. You can tell all of that by that one comment.
The dude does play his heart out, probably his soul, and possibly his mind. It's a wonder he's not a puddle o'goo after shows. ;) And the same can be said for the others, too. They play.
Glad you guys had a fantastic time!
See everyone around later! It's Friday! "Whoop Whoop!"
PORCHIES!!
Wake up!
I'm glad you guys liked reading it! It was awesome, seriously. ^_^
Solly!
Call me like now!
I'M AWAKE! I'M AWAKE!
I've been awake since "four o'clock in the fuckin' morning." Seriously, I have. Didn't sleep well at all last night.
Why in the hell do people have to be so full of hate? Why?
I don't get it at all.
I don't know, Smoke.
I have no idea.
The Creepy Eyeball of Doomdom in Birmingham
Have you ever? It follows me wherever I go. O_o
The Real Hero
Niiiiice. ^_^
Hey, hey, hey, hey!
awwh Smoke, seeing that photo just made me realize how fucking close we were to the front.
Damnit man.
It also caused my post traumatic stress disorder to kick in and I started having flashbacks.
I am permanently damaged.
Aw man!
You guys were uber close!
Were being the key word there, Mustard.
But, you were!
Much better than saying, "Aw man, guys! You could have been so close!" ;)
Trying and failing is much better than not trying at all.
And my ass should be at a record store picking up the new Raconteurs record. That's a really powerful couple of lines.
The additions are great. :)
Mustard,
Yes, yes, yes! Go get that record. You will not be disappointed.
Afterall, it's Jack White!!
I hope the Ranconteurs do a show close to here. I would love love love love love to see them.
*hopes they don't have a mosh pit*
I'm about to see if I can find Drive By's new cd. I should have bought one at the show. Those guys are made of win!!
I swear the singer dude looked right at me like 10 times.
WHERE IS MY UNICORN??? GODDAMNIT!! I MISS PPU!!
What's a Solly to do without her PPU????

Can I just say that Jack White makes me want to be a songwriter?
Okay, I just had to get that off my chest. I feel so much better now.
